What we can do right now?
- Money. Every contribution is heartily welcomed. The Meadowlark Learning Center is a "grassroot" project started by some active members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe who want to work for preserving Cheyenne as a living language. They have no support of institutions, universities, churches, etc. Cheyennes are not a numerous or rich community. But friends of the Cheyenne people all around the world can support them in the hard effort to save Cheyenne.
- Gifts. Toys, pillows and quilts for naptime, pencils, watercolors, and other material support would be very useful too. Contact us and we will arrange your help.
- Volunteers. Students or travelers, you could visit the Cheyennes, get to know interesting people and culture, and help a good thing. Your hands and powers will be appreciated in the Meadowlark Learning Center for certain.
- Advices. Share your experiences in fundraising, grants, or gatherings. If you know of funds or grants supporting language revitalization and indigenous communities, send us word, please. Any legal aid concerning this field is also welcomed.
- Promotion. Inform your friends and people around you about the Meadowlark Learning Center. Something important for the Cheyenne people is taking place in Méave’ho’éno, Lame Deer, Montana. Be present!
