I’m from the Czech Republic. The Cheyennes were the heroes of my childhood games and they are an inspiration of my adult life. Because of them, I began to study the ethnology. However, I didn’t become a scholar, I worked as a joiner or postman, and I translate books for living now. Nevertheless, I have learned from the Cheyenne culture and history all the time. After many years of research of the Cheyenne history and culture, Tsitsistas and Sutaio are almost a part of my family. For my children, I wrote a book on the Cheyenne narrative culture to show them (and to people in my country) a beauty of old Tsitsistas and Sutaio stories and  Cheyenne ways. For my wife and along with her, we worked on a book on Cheyenne ethnobotany to show that amazing part of the Cheyenne cultural heritage (see also a website tsehoneo.webnode.cz). Maybe the most important and surely the most endangered part of this heritage is the Cheyenne language which is so beautiful, interesting, and complex . The Cheyenne people long to keep it and I want to support them.
